Dave, thank you for telling us to bring gumboots…:) Yes, it was wet, but it was the best “wet season” one can ever experience. To be in the only car at Maasai Mara within the eye view and the privacy of watching animals on our own was absolutely extraordinary. We have thoroughly enjoyed all your talks about African wildlife, geology and photography. We’ll remain forever grateful for your patience in answering all our questions. Please extend our “Thank you” to your team. A group of kindest and discreet camping pros, one can trust in any weather conditions. Not to mention a 4 meal course at the end of each day! Thank you for making this safari such a meaningful experience for our family. We’ll be back.

As a mere teenager of 16 years, the initial idea of camping developed a large precedent in my mind. This idea of being in the ‘middle of nowhere’ with no internet or hairdryers, was washed away the moment we set out on our safari. The picturesque beauty of Kenya and its animals, culture, people was shown to me by Dave in every single aspect possible. I learnt a great deal about the animal kingdom and the enchanting ways of nature. The campsite which was set up by the most dependable, trustworthy team was a pure luxury. The facilities created in the ‘middle of nowhere’ were clean, comfortable and one with the scenic beauty. Included was hot shower water, charging power and the 5 Star food, along with the inevitable howl of hyenas… what more could I ask for? I strongly feel that this experience was not just the stereotypical ‘camping’, it was an adventure I will treasure in my heart forever. I thank you, Dave and your team for giving me this opportunity for a trip of a life time.

Dave and Jayne – Thank you for tailoring an extraordinary experience that was so professionally put together in the rainy season. The “mega dumps” of rain from the heavens added to the adventure. The inability to cross flooded rivers and streams resulted in quick decision-making to ensure safety of all and the need to adjust the route(s) and also the camp sites. Your light-weight mobile accommodation transport truck (with all sleeping, messing, catering and washing gear on board) was just the answer for this type of environment and weather. Even with the inclement weather the Maasai Mara was spectacular – the wide open grassed savannah was just the tonic to clear the mind from the daily grind of commercial life in the city – will return.

We had a fantastic time on safari with Dave. The innovative system Dave has
created ensures the whole operation runs with mind-boggling ease. The camp
staff, food and facilities were all brilliant; we felt incredibly spoilt!
The 10 day itinerary of national and private reserve that Dave had put
together was just what we were looking for; the diversity of habitat led to
amazing mammal and bird viewings. A simply fabulous experience and we would

My ideal holiday is to go on safari to the Mara with David. His standards of excellence and knowledge of his environment are superb. Together with his staff, your every wish is catered for and I have found that any stress or worries, melt away within hours. There is no more special way to see the wildlife in their natural habitat, than to camp . Being at one with nature, your senses are heightened , the thrill of finding the elusive cats , the awesome spotting abilities of the tracker, and the effervescent cheerfulness of David, ensure that you have a truly memorable holiday. This is why I go back as often as possible, with friends and family.

My husband and I have just had an amazing ten day trip with Dave Simpson Safaris in Kenya. We made some unusual requests and Dave tailored the trip specifically for our needs. It was absolutely superb. From the structure of the journey, the flexible itinerary each day, he ensured we made the most of our time in Kenya - and in comfort. We saw a vast array of wildlife at close quarters - animals and birds - and we got to know the country. The whole experience was much enhanced by the expertise and knowledge of Dave himself. To cap it all, Dave has sophisticated camera equipment and took many professional photographs during our trip. At the end of which he gave us a memory stick containing the photos as a lasting memento of our holiday. Wonderful!
