Mobile Tented Camps

Luxury mobile camps offer comfort, exclusivity and flexibility and could almost be described as “a lodge on wheels”. There really is no better way than camping to get close to the wildlife and to truly experience the wilderness and rhythms of Africa. Campsites are chosen for their breath-taking scenery and proximity to where the wildlife is, depending on the time of the year. Our highly trained, friendly and enthusiastic staff will take care of the daily chores in camp, enabling you to fully relax and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the African bush.

The dining tent is spacious and can be insect-proofed when required. It incorporates a sitting area with beanbags, a bar and a library. Gourmet food is freshly prepared each day by our highly skilled chef. Menus include a variety of meat, fish or pasta dishes, with fresh fruit and vegetables, home-made bread and accompanied by fine wines. We are able to cater for any specific dietary requirements and we will endeavour to include that “special recipe” if you let us know in advance. Re-supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables are brought into camp as required.

Our tents are custom-made and are light, spacious and insect-proof. They have a veranda at the front and an en-suite hot shower, toilet, hand basin and dressing area at the rear. Our tents are comfortably furnished with twin single beds or a double bed, warm duvets and towels. Hot water bottles and blankets are available for chilly evenings. Your tent attendant will bring hot and cold water whenever required, clean your tent while you are out and ensure that any laundry is returned to you clean and ironed.

Whilst our hard-working team pack-up the camp and move to the next camping destination, Dave will accompany you for one or two nights to a small, hand-picked, luxury lodge. Although camping is our first love, spending one or two nights in a lodge allows the camp time to move and lodges offer a very different experience to camping, adding to your overall safari experience. After a rewarding time at the lodge of choice, we rejoin our camp to find that your “home away from home” has moved. Your same tent will have been set-up by your friendly team of staff but in very different surroundings and with a spectacular new view.
