Sarara Camp

Sarara Namunyak (‘the place of peace’)
TuskerSarara Camp is situated within the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust, an area of approximately 75,000 hectares that lies at the southern corner of the Mathews Mountain range of northern Kenya. The Trust was set up in 1995 specifically to promote wildlife conservation and to assist the local community to benefit from tourism, in return for protecting the wildlife species living on their land. Within Sarara Camp comfortable accommodation is provided in five double tents, each with en-suite bathrooms. The main lounge and dining area are on a wooden deck with commanding views of the Northern Frontier. A natural rock swimming pool overlooks a waterhole which is frequently visited by mammals. In addition to game-drives, other activities on Namunyak include guided bush-walks, hiking into the Mathews rainforest, climbing Ololokwe (The Mountain of God), fly camping safaris with camels along the wide sand ‘luggas’ and moonlit bush dinners beside natural animal watering holes.
