Photo Workshops
• Are you an amateur photographer wanting to progress?
• Do you want to maximize the results from your camera?
• Do you want to capture that magical moment for a lifetime memory?
• Do you want to experience a unique part of Africa with others with a similar interest?
If you answered yes to any of the above then join us for the wildlife trip of a lifetime on one of our upcoming Photo Workshops.
What does a photo workshop entail?
Unlike regular safaris where you will of course have the opportunity to do a certain amount of photography, our photo workshops are specifically designed for photographers who want to ensure they capture the best possible photographs from their safari and to take their photographic skills to the next level.
With wildlife photography there is always a certain element of luck involved. However, knowing your subject and being able to predict mammal behaviour and interactions is a huge advantage. With Dave’s years of experience in the bush, combined with his extensive knowledge of the wildlife, he will try to ensure that you are in the best possible place for any action. This includes appropriate positioning of the vehicle to take advantage of the light (whilst not disturbing the wildlife you are trying to photograph), and maximising the golden light opportunities at either end of the day.
Whilst on game drives there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and Dave will make suggestions regarding camera settings, technique, composition, etc, as appropriate. He will also share with you challenges specific to the conditions in the African bush and suggest techniques to try to overcome these. Back in camp there will be an opportunity to discuss all aspects of photography and to receive feedback on your own images. There will also be an opportunity for short lectures on various aspects of photography, tailored to the needs of the group.
With our small group sizes we try to create an informal, fun atmosphere for learning. Our aim is to ensure that every guest has the opportunity to increase their photographic knowledge, to maximise the photographic potential of their safari, and, most importantly, to have an unforgettable African experience!
