 The latest safari news.

Kenya has had a wonderful wet season and the entire country is emerald green. When the rains start the mammals disperse and so it is harder to find good mammal sightings, this being said I prefer running safaris in the wet season as the colours are so vivid, the country is bursting with life and awash with wild flowers.

I recently returned from a safari last month, which visited a lot of Kenya and also Northern Tanzania. The vegetation has sprung back to life after such a long dry spell and as you can see from these photographs we have had plenty of great mammal sightings and many other great natural wonders to entertain us. One of the special lasting memories from this March/April 2010 safari was a small group of wildebeest running through thick carpet of wild flowers on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater. All you could see was a dozen sets of horns in single file, bobbing up and down as they moved through a forest of flowers.

Our real latest news is that we have relaunched our website, www.davesimpsonsafaris.com

The latest personal news.

Since our wedding in Jan 2010 Jayne and I have been to South Africa to visit my family. While in South Africa, Jayne then went on to Cape Town for a malaria meeting, she is working on a malaria vaccine trial which is funded by the Gates Foundation. In late March was on safari with a wonderful Swedish family, enjoying a very green East Africa. Now in May we are off to Europe to market our safaris before gearing up for the coming season starting in June.
