The latest personal news
One of the highlights of the year so far has been a trip with great friends from the UK who came to visit. We drove through some spectacular scenery, taking in the Rift Valley Lakes of Bogoria and Baringo and then on to the dry, arid region of Samburu which is one of our favourite places. We shared many experiences and returned home with lots of happy memories.
The latest safari news
The year started well with Dave being involved with a safari in January which broke the record for the age span, with the youngest guest being just over one year and the more senior members of the group over 70 years!
We have seen some amazing bird spectacles in recent months, particularly on Lake Bogoria with huge numbers of flamingos. Then in Samburu one of the many highlights was seeing a pack of wild dogs. It appears that they are recovering well from a canine distemper epidemic which significantly reduced the populations here in recent years. While in Samburu we also spent time with the Samburu people in a village we have come to know and had a hilarious time watching their 'Samburu Olympics', including tug-of-war.
